Le Meraviglie is the dream of Piera Bonerba, a native Italian artist raised in Puglia, who has taught art and movement to school-age children for more than a decade. For the past eight years, Piera has been the art teacher for the preschool, kindergarten and elementary grade levels at La Scuola d’Italia in New York, a private international bilingual school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Over time she’s developed the art curriculum for, and taught, every grade in the lower school and established after-school and enrichment programs that included museum and studio tours, fundraising art projects, and set design and construction. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s Degree in set design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. She is also a certified yoga instructor through Karma Kids Yoga in New York. Together with her husband and son, Piera lives in beautiful Brooklyn Heights.
